Marble is a lovely finish in kitchens and many bathrooms but being a soft stone it is susceptible to stains and damage. So what do yo do to protect this investment in your home? We have put together some tips below on how to clean marble safely!
TIPS ON HOW TO CLEAN MARBLE
Kitchen & Bathroom Surfaces
Shiny Marble Surfaces - Wipe the marble surface thoroughly using a Mach 6 Cleaning Glove with the cold water and wipe away any residue from the marble surface. If you have streaks and a dull finish, it may be because there is still residue on the surface. Rinse the Mach 6 Cleaning Glove again with cold water and wring it out thoroughly to remove most of the excess water. Wipe over the surface again to remove any residue. Wipe the surface dry with the Star Polishing Cloth to get the best result and a streak free finish. Remember don’t use any detergent this is a fat base and will leave a dull finish.
Rough Marble Surfaces - Follow the same procedure as above but use the Hedgehog Cleaning Glove.
Marble Floors
Use the Dusting Floor Pad dry to dust, remove pet hair and give a general sweep of the main floor areas removing surface debris. With a twist of the Floor Cleaning System you can use the pad to dust off all your kick boards and skirting boards that are sometimes forgotten.
Follow with the Hedgehog Soft Floor Cleaning Pad used with water on your marble floor. The dirtier the floor the more water required. Its recommended to rinse this floor pad thoroughly using the Pressbuttler Cleaning Bucket each time you go over the floor. You can’t clean surfaces with a dirty floor pad.
Dry off the floor with the White Floor Cleaning Pad for a streak free finish.
To protect your marble floors you can add 10ml of Ha-Ra Carnauba Natural Care in 5 litres of cold or lukewarm water when cleaning. This will help protect your marble between washes.
